Mike Chavers serves as Chief Executive Officer for Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR), leading our strategic direction, operations, and statewide continuum of behavioral health services.
Mike earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Olivet Nazarene University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Moody Bible Institute. He is a fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for Juvenile Justice Reform, serves as Regional Director for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, and previously served as Chair of the Behavioral Health Alliance of Montana.
Prior to joining YBGR in 2016, Mike spent 22 years at Indian Oaks Academy, a Nexus organization, where he held a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Executive Director.
His leadership has helped guide a period of significant growth for YBGR, expanding access to care and strengthening services for kids and families across Montana.
Born and raised in Idaho, Mike later pursued his education and career in Illinois before making Montana home. He and his wife, Michelle, have three daughters: Caroline, Olivia, and Chloe. Outside of work, Mike enjoys fishing, the outdoors, and supporting the arts, particularly live music.
