Therapeutic Youth Mentoring
Building Skills, Confidence, and Connection
Therapeutic Youth Mentoring connects kids with healthy adults who provide intensive, relationship-based support—one-on-one or in group settings. Mentors work alongside kids to practice coping, social, and daily living skills, helping them succeed at home, at school, and in the community.
This service is available to kids who are receiving at least one other community-based service. Therapeutic Youth Mentoring, like our other mental health service offerings, is guided by a personalized treatment plan created with each child and their family to keep support focused on healing and growth.
Support You Can Count On
Therapeutic Youth Mentoring supports youth through:
One-on-One Mentoring
Mentors work directly with kids, building a therapeutic relationship while providing consistent, individualized support.
Group Mentoring
Giving kids an opportunity to practice the skills they are learning with their peers. Group mentoring is a powerful way for kids to learn to engage with other kids in a healthy way.
Hands-On Skill Development
Through real-world activities and therapeutic games, mentors help kids practice coping, social, and daily living skills they can use every day.
Flexible, Community-Based Care
Mentors work with kids at their home, at school, and in the broader community based on each child’s needs and goals.
24/7 On-Call Emergency Support
For families enrolled in our community-based services, support is available around the clock when urgent mental health needs arise.
Funding & Payment Options
Mentoring services are funded through Healthy Montana Kids Plus (Medicaid) and Healthy Montana Kids – Extended to ensure accessibility for families. We also offer a sliding fee scale for families paying out of pocket.
