Our Homes for Heifers Program
Homes for Heifers is a uniquely Montana way to support kids rooted in ranching and community.
By donating livestock or welcoming a YBGR heifer or cow/calf pair into their herd, ranchers help fund youth programming and ranch-based therapy. Proceeds go directly back into care, connecting life on the land with life-changing work for kids.

Provide Nutritious Food for Kids Through The Producer Partnership
What we put on kids’ plates matters. Through generous livestock donations and The Producer Partnership, kids at the Ranch enjoy Montana-raised meat, processed at no cost.
The Producer Partnership is the nation’s first and only USDA nonprofit-owned and operated meat processing facility. Based in Livingston, the nonprofit turns donated livestock into top-quality protein at no cost for nonprofits, schools, and food banks across the state.
How to give:
- Donate beef, pork, or lamb through The Producer Partnership, whether raised by you or purchased at a local fair or livestock auction.
- Designate Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch as the recipient.
- The Producer Partnership team coordinates pickup, processing, and packaging.

Volunteer Your Time
Alongside financial and in-kind support, giving time is another powerful way to make a difference.
From businesses lending a hand with landscaping and maintenance projects to community groups caroling and wrapping gifts around the holidays, volunteers play a vital role at the Ranch in Billings.
