School-Based Services
Where Mental Health Meets the Classroom
Our School-Based Services provide year-round mental health support in schools, with additional services available at home and in the community. A Family Support Specialist and/or therapist works alongside students and families to build skills, strengthen communication, and support success in the school environment.
Care is delivered within the education setting to support learning, strengthen the connection between home and school, and reinforce positive emotional and behavioral growth.
Support You Can Count On
Our School-Based Services support youth through:
Care Continuity That Sets Kids Up for Success
Our school-based mental health teams work directly within the school to provide coordinated care across school, home, and community environments — strengthening communication with families and supporting school success.
In-School Stabilization & De-Escalation
We provide in-the-moment care that helps students strengthen coping and regulation skills—supporting positive behavior throughout the school day.
Individual, Group, and Family Therapy
Therapy may be provided within the school setting and coordinated with educators to support consistency and minimize disruption to learning.
Year-Round, Wraparound Support
Services extend beyond the school setting to reinforce progress across school, home, and community environments. Support may continue through the summer months to maintain continuity of care.
24/7 On-Call Emergency Support
For families enrolled in our community-based services, support is available around the clock when urgent mental health needs arise.
Funding & Payment Options
School-Based Services are primarily funded through Healthy Montana Kids Plus (Medicaid) and Healthy Montana Kids – Extended. Services may also be covered by private insurance, and a sliding fee scale is available for families paying out of pocket.
