Chemical Dependency Services
Prevention, Recovery, and Tools for Long-Term Wellness
Substance use can affect health, relationships, and decision-making — often showing up alongside mental health needs.
Our Chemical Dependency Services support youth struggling with substance use and often with co-occurring mental health conditions, while also offering preventative care. We work alongside youth and their families to strengthen healthy decision-making, address family dynamics, and build practical tools that support long-term wellness.
Services are available in several counties across the state via telehealth and directly in Yellowstone, Blaine, and Flathead Counties.
Support You Can Count On
Chemical Dependency Services support youth and their families through:
Prevention
Supported by a Substance Use Block Grant from the Department of Public Health and Human Services, we partner with public schools in Billings, Laurel, Harlem, and Hays to deliver substance use prevention services within school settings.
Assessment & Early Intervention
Youth are evaluated by a licensed addiction counselor to determine the presence of a substance use disorder and identify the level of support needed.
Early intervention services focus on education, awareness, and reducing risk before substance use escalates.
Individual, Group, and Family Counseling
Outpatient services include individual, group, and family counseling to address substance use, mental health needs, and family relationships.
Counseling focuses on building insight, strengthening communication, and supporting healthier patterns at home, at school, and in the community.
Skill Building & Recovery Tools
Youth develop practical coping skills and healthier alternatives to substance use. Care emphasizes problem-solving, accountability, and building resilience that carries beyond treatment.
School & Community Support
Licensed addiction counselors provide services in school and community settings, meeting youth where they are and reducing barriers to care.
24/7 On-Call Emergency Support
For families enrolled in our community-based services, support is always one call away when urgent substance-related needs arise.
Funding & Payment Options
Chemical Dependency Services are funded through private insurance, Healthy Montana Kids Plus (Medicaid), and Healthy Montana Kids – Extended. We also offer a sliding fee scale for families paying out of pocket.
