Transitional Skills
The goal of the Transitional Skills Program (TSP) is to equip the youth at YBGR with the life skills necessary to be successful both in and out of the workplace.
The goal of the Transitional Skills Program (TSP) is to equip the youth at YBGR with the life skills necessary to be successful both in and out of the workplace.
To achieve this goal, life skills such as communication, teamwork, employability and many others are taught using the experiential learning method. Experience is gained through participating in a therapeutic work environment and youth are also required to attend classes that focus on life skill development.
The addition of TSP to a youth’s treatment plan opens up a world of possibilities for continued growth and success through childhood and adulthood. The development of life skills is a cornerstone of successful transition from student to employee, child to adult, and essentially from dependence to independence.
Therapeutic Work Environments available through the Transitional Skills Program:
- Ranch
- Greenhouse
- Dining Hall
