Each staff member of our Residential Services Department is fully trained and certified in CPR, first aid, management of aggressive behavior, adolescent growth and development, and other necessary skills to ensure the safety and positive development of youth while in our care. Prior to hiring, staff members are subjected to extensive back-ground checks, reference checks, verification of credentials and screenings to make sure they are appropriate for employment at YBGR. Our staff members are carefully selected in order to have individuals who maintain a personal life style consistent with YBGR’s mission, vision and values and have a desire to be positive role models for youth.
Members of the treatment team work together to coordinate treatment programs designed to address the specific needs of each youth. This team is composed of direct care staff in the lodge where the youth lives, their therapist, their teacher from Yellowstone Academy, and a certified Clinician. Other specialists including chemical dependency staff, recreation specialists, psychologist, nurses, and dieticians may be included on a team depending on the specific needs of the youth, or consultative needs of the core team.
The dedicated professionals at YBGR continue to receive extensive training and development opportunities while working for us. Professional development is encouraged through our Employee Scholarship Fund and Perkins Loan Cancellation program. YBGR staff has the passion, the experience and the training to be effective in this challenging and important work and are aware of the responsibility they have in respectfully caring for each youth and creating a helpful and healing process for growth.
