Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch believes in a living/learning environment for youth and staff- providing excellence in educational services that promote the emotional, behavioral, spiritual, and physical development of children, adolescents and their families. We provide employees with the tools and the skills to make a difference. Trainers and supervisors partner with employees to teach valuable skills and competency reviews in and out of the classroom. YBGR’s Training Department provides a full spectrum of learning opportunities for all employees.
Every employee is an integral piece in making our agency successful, so training is individualized based upon position. Staff members gain the skills necessary to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for the youth and families that we serve. Basic training courses for staff are in accordance with the needs of the organization, state and federal agency requirements, and various licensing obligations. Staff will acquire knowledge through training in areas such as First Aid/CPR, Psychotropic Medications, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Special Treatment Procedures, Safety/Fire/Infection Control, Suicide/Self Harm Awareness, Cultural Competency, Customer Service, HIPAA and many more. New employees participate in a company On-boarding process which entails assessment, history, culture, values, philosophy, observation, and debriefing sessions.
