Spiritual Development

YBGR’s pastoral care program is designed to help youth see themselves as capable individuals who are able to overcome adversity, disappointment, and mistakes.

spiritual developmentSpiritual growth and development is an important part of the YBGR experience – so important it’s part of our Mission statement. Staff members of the Pastoral Care program support the youth in the residential programs through interfaith church services held each week in the chapel along with voluntary care groups, youth groups and individual counseling sessions. Chapel service is not required for youth at YBGR; an alternative Values Group is offered at the same time for those that choose not to attend Chapel.

Through every interaction with the Pastoral Care program, youth are presented with an engaging approach that recognizes and respects the diverse backgrounds and traditions of the youth and their family. Pastoral Care staff have open and active partnerships with the leaders of local faiths and work to provide experiences in conjunction with those agencies, churches and the local synagogue.

At YBGR, pastoral counseling has been found to enhance the development of values and morals in youth, build character and an appreciation for creation and the environment, promote patriotism, and to introduce community service and the idea of serving others. We’ve also seen the benefits of faith-based counseling for youth in times of stress, grief, loss, or change.

No matter what depth and capacity youth choose to take advantage of within Pastoral Care, they will be given a safe and honest environment to explore and grow in their spirituality. If you have any questions, please contact us at (800)726-6755 or Contact our Residential Admissions Department for more information.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
