Pastoral Care
Realizing that spirituality is a personal matter, YBGR provides a safe and honest environment where youth can explore and grow in their faith. Gaining an understanding of God’s grace and forgiveness while building faith in a youth’s life reduces shame. It restores hope and helps each youth courageously assume responsibilities for decisions and commitments.
YBGR presents youth with an engaging approach to pastoral care while recognizing and respecting the diverse backgrounds and tradition of the youth we serve. Our C.P.E. certified chaplain and committed pastoral care staff support family values and provide youth with an avenue to express their ideas and ask questions. With a Judeo-Christian foundation, pastoral care is offered weekly in interdenominational Chapel services, pastoral care groups, youth groups, family week and individual counseling.
“Those who know your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You.″ Psalm 9:10
“God, You get us ready for life: You probe for our soft spots, You knock off our rough edges. And I’m feeling so fit, so safe.″ Psalm 7:9-10
Pastoral care is designed to help youth construct positive, overcoming narratives in which they see themselves as capable individuals who, with God’s help, have been able to overcome adversity.

Youth Groups
Youth groups are offered on the YBGR campus. All youth are invited to attend.
YBGR youth groups are opportunities for youth to explore their spirituality in a much less formal setting than the weekly chapel services. The evening programs include a lot of fun and interactive activities such as contests, group games, skits, music, snacks and a sold message dealing with some aspect of Christian living.
As a part of transitioning youth back into their communities, YBGR believes it is important for youth and their families to know how to access the resources of the local church. For many, joining a local youth group may best facilitate this. Pastors are encouraged to contact Chaplain John Jamison for information regarding the transition process of youth into a local group.
