The Clinic at YBGR is a multi-disciplinary setting where professional staff provide medical and psychiatric care. Assessments are completed with each youth and serve as the foundation for the individualized treatment plan.
A Psychiatrist or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse interviews each youth, accompanying family members, and reviews available records completing a Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation. Preliminary diagnoses are identified and a treatment plan is established. Each youth is followed by a clinician throughout their stay at YBGR. The psychiatric staff are responsible for ongoing assessment, identification of target symptoms, pharmacological intervention, evaluation, and clinical leadership on the treatment team.
Clinical psychologists provide both comprehensive and brief psychological assessment for youth in placement. Evaluations include the identification of the current adjustment status, and contributing and sustaining factors of social/emotional problems in a youth and/or family system. Cognitive, academic and personality functioning are assessed and causative factors of developmental and learning problems in youth are examined. On-going consultation and problem specific assessments are available to the treatment team throughout the course of stay.
Upon admission to YBGR, a health assessment and physical examination are completed by the Family Nurse Practitioner. Well-child health care and on-campus management of minor injuries and illnesses are facilitated. Referrals and consultations for more complex medical issues are made to specialists in Billings.
The nursing staff at YBGR are on campus 24-hours a day 7 days a week. They provide basic health assessment at admission and day-to-day evaluation and intervention as health care needs arise. Nurses dispense all prescribed medications on-campus.
