Clinical Assessment
Philip A. House, Psy.D., began his career in the mental health field after earning a Master’s degree in Counseling. He practiced as a licensed counselor at YBGR for three years before shifting into the role of a school psychologist in Bozeman, MT for 10 years. Desiring further professional training, he went back to graduate school in Oregon, earning a Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Bible and Theology at George Fox University. Dr. House was then employed in a psychological clinic and a psychiatric hospital before returning to YBGR where he has practiced for the past twelve years as a psychologist, filling both school psychology and clinical psychology roles. Dr. House is licensed as a psychologist and is a licensed and board certified (NCSP) school psychologist. Currently, Dr. House is instrumental in developing accurate clinical assessments, which guide treatment for the youth at YBGR. Recognized for his patience and kindness, Dr. House is known for his ability to remember and call by name each child on YBGR’s residential campus.
Taylor A. Mayer, Ph.D., completed his undergraduate work at the University of Montana and continued on to receive his Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Montana State University-Billings and his Ph.D. from Walden University. Dr. Mayer has worked at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch for over twelve years in numerous capacities. He has worked extensively with sexual abuse survivors and has established a private practice serving children, adolescents, couples, and adult trauma resolution work. Currently, Dr. Mayer works in collaboration with Dr. House in completing all psychological assessment for the youth of Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch.
