Upon admission, each youth is interviewed and information is gathered from accompanying family members and available records such that a Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation and Social History can be completed. Preliminary diagnoses are identified and an initial treatment plan is developed. Each youth is followed by a Psychiatrist throughout their stay at YBGR. The Licensed Independent Practitioners are responsible for ongoing assessment, identification of target symptoms, pharmacological intervention, evaluation, and collaboration with the youth’s treatment team.
Clinical psychologists provide both comprehensive and brief psychological assessment as needed for youth in placement. Evaluations include the identification of the current adjustment status, and contributing and on-going factors of social/emotional problems in a youth and/or family system. Cognitive, academic and personality functioning are assessed along with the examination of any developmental and learning problems in the youth. On-going consultation and problem specific assessments are available to the treatment team throughout the course of stay.
Upon admission to YBGR, a health assessment and physical examination are completed by Licensed Independent Practitioners. Well-child health care and management of minor injuries and illnesses are completed on-site. Referrals and consultations for more complex medical issues are made to specialists in Billings.
The nursing staff at YBGR are on campus 24-hours a day 7 days a week. They provide basic health assessment at admission and day-to-day evaluation and intervention as health care needs arise. Nurses dispense all prescribed medications on-campus.
